Retired material scientist and current EMS student, Steven Pardini, leads us in a reflection entitled “Entrophy and Resurrection.” Steven spent 37 years as a material scientist at Dupont (with a Phd in Physical Chemistry) and is uniquely suited to speak about the intersection of science and faith.

The annual C. Henry Smith Peace Oratorical Contest, established in 1974 by the directors of the C. Henry Smith Trust, offers students an opportunity to discuss peacebuilding and social justice issues on campus. The intercollegiate competition is administered by the Peace and Justice Ministries of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). Undergraduate students from every Mennonite and Brethren in Christ college in North America are eligible to participate.

Start your final stretch of the semester with “Struggle songs; Song of Hope” a chance to hear Dr. David Berry, Dr. Andrew Suderman, and the 黑料正能量 Gospel Choir. In this chapel we sing, listen to singing, and explore the hope found within songs from a variety of contexts and struggles, such as the struggle against apartheid in South Africa to Reggae to African American spirituals and songs from the Civil Rights. N.T. Wright, Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at University of Saint聽Andrews, addresses seminary chapel in Martin Chapel (Seminary Building) for the annual Augsburger Lecture Series. A Q&A takes place from 11:45-Noon.

Wright聽is a leading biblical scholar, former Bishop of Durham in the Church of England, and current Research Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at St. Mary’s College in the University of St. Andrews. He studied for the ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, and was ordained at Merton College, Oxford. Wright holds a Doctor of Divinity from Oxford University in addition to several honorary doctorates. Wright has written over fifty books, including the multi-volume work聽Christian Origins and the Question of God.
