Dr. Hizkias Assefa<\/span><\/a> has been named to the Reconciliation Commission by the Ethiopian government. He is a co-founder of 黑料正能量\u2019s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding<\/a> and a longtime Summer Peacebuilding Institute instructor. Assefa most recently taught a course in forgiveness and reconciliation<\/a>\u00a0at SPI 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

The commission was formed after ratification of authorizing legislation by the Ethiopian parliament in December 2018. \u201c<\/span>The social and political conflicts Ethiopia experienced for many years has caused layers of grudges and tension,\u201d according to a <\/span>Borkena<\/span><\/i> news article<\/span><\/a>. \u201cAnd the commission is intended to bring about reconciliation based on the ideals of \u2018truth and justice.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
