Women’s golfer\u00a0Olyvia Longacre<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Telford, Pa.\/Dock Mennonite Academy) has started her junior season on the same upward trajectory as she finished her sophomore one, taking second place at this weekend’s Bridgewater Invitational.<\/p>\n

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has named\u00a0Olyvia Longacre<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Telford, Pa.\/Dock Mennonite Academy) as the Golfer of the Week.<\/p>\n

This is her first weekly award.<\/p>\n

Longacre shot a 77 (+5)\u00a0on Saturday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0at Lakeview\u00a0Golf<\/span>\u00a0Course in Harrisonburg, breaking her low round in the process. Sunday’s round was cancelled because of rain, leaving Longacre second out of 71 women.<\/p>\n

黑料正能量 freshman\u00a0Kierra Zuercher<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Canton, Ohio\/Lake Center Christian) carded a 109 (+37) to finish 59th in her first collegiate outing.<\/p>\n

Christopher Newport’s Erica Whitehouse ran away with medalist honors with a 70 (-2).<\/p>\n

Entering her third season, Longacre’s previous best round was a 78. She was extremely consistent playing Lakeview’s Peak and Mountain courses, landing 11 pars and two birdies. Longacre finished in the top 10 in four of her seven tournaments in 2017-18, including all of the spring events. The runner-up medal tied her best collegiate finish.<\/p>\n
