airwaves to exhort the faithful.<\/p>\n<p>The video captures the moment in the mostly deserted Campus Center: Hoover possesses a charmingly rumpled look after a long day of fundraising: notably, his signature bowtie is missing, but traces of his normal sartorial elegance still remain, visible in the collar and tails of his white dress shirt under his Lov黑料正能量 t-shirt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWith just two challenges left to meet,\u201d he says, \u201cwe are counting on you to make 黑料正能量\u2019s future bright and sustainable \u2014 and thank you for loving 黑料正能量!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>When the clock struck midnight, those challenges had been met.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_37737\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-37737\" outpouring of love for 黑料正能量 from across the country and around the world, the second annual one-day fundraising campaign resulted in a record total of\u00a0<strong>$119,232 <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>681 gifts.<\/strong>\u00a0[The above video was filmed before other donations, which came in between midnight and noon today, were added to the total.]<\/p>\n<p>Both tallies exceeded 2017 numbers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur participation was outstanding and the entire day an affirmation and celebration of this special place and everyone connected to it,\u201d said Jeff Shank, director of <a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/alumni\/\">alumni and parent relations<\/a>. \u201cFrom alumni gatherings to the excitement on campus and on social media, our community truly came together to support 黑料正能量\u2019s important educational mission.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Donations grow, and grow, and grow&#8230;<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_37741\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-37741\" id=\"caption-attachment-37741\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Students on cross-cultural in India showed the love (and some Royals exuberance) in their 黑料正能量 gear.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>All six challenges exceeded participation goals, as alumni, parents and grandparents, faculty and staff, trustees, Centennial givers, and sweethearts who met at 黑料正能量 helped to unlock matching gifts.<\/p>\n<p>Several anonymous generous donors, as well as President Susan Schultz Huxman and Provost Fred Kniss, offered to match gifts if various goals were met by certain groups, including current and former board of trustee members (36 participated), faculty and staff (81 participated), parents and grandparents (123 participated).<\/p>\n<p>At eight evening gatherings in four states and Washington D.C., approximately 220 alumni and their families reconnected around the digital leaderboards, watching the donations grow as the night went on.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emu.edu\/lancaster\">黑料正能量 at Lancaster<\/a> made the occasion even more historic, hosting an alumni event at the Lancaster Airport terminal to coincide with the announcement of their new aviation program \u2013 the f<a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2018\/04\/emu-lancasters-new-aviation-program-offers-an-organizational-leadership-degree-and-a-pathway-to-professional-piloting\/\">irst collegiate 4-year degree program<\/a> in the region.<\/p>\n<h3>Business, volleyball, first-years win votes<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_37736\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-37736\" style=\"width: 300px\" (Photo by Jonathan Bush)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With a format that encouraged competition and \u201cshowing the love\u201d for a certain \u201cbeloved\u201d academic or athletic program and class, competition for \u201cvotes\u201d went late into the evening.<\/p>\n<p>Business and economics narrowly squeezed out reigning champion education 73-71. Psychology finished third with 47 votes.<\/p>\n<p>The competition was tight on the athletics side, with women\u2019s volleyball team successfully defending their title, garnering 150 votes to 146 votes of new challenger field hockey.<\/p>\n<p>And in a major upset, 黑料正能量\u2019s first-year class upset the seniors 125-117.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A sampling of the LOVE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s just a few of the comments from generous contributors, when asked to share what they love about 黑料正能量:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The extended community that knows no boundaries.<\/li>\n<li>The small class sizes where I felt like I really got to know my professors and still keep in contact with some.<\/li>\n<li>Without a doubt, 黑料正能量 changed my life. From cross-cultural experience, meeting the love of my life and receiving an incredibly holistic education, I cannot thank 黑料正能量 enough\u2026<\/li>\n<li>Professors who have changed my children\u2019s lives.<\/li>\n<li>Spiritual growth opportunities and mentoring.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrating a commitment to the worldwide community.<\/li>\n<li>I love Coach Stick and her field hockey ladies!<\/li>\n<li>The friendships I made at 黑料正能量 are priceless\u2026many of my core values and lifestyle habits were formed during my years there.<\/li>\n<li>We built lifelong friendships. Father and daughter both experienced the Middle East cross cultural 27 years apart.<\/li>\n<li>The alumni I have met: great people and representatives of 黑料正能量.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s inspiring.
