The Orie Miller Center<\/a> at 黑料正能量 (黑料正能量) is offering mini-grants to an individual, a group or a department with an outstanding idea for integrating peace, justice<\/a>, mission or development<\/a> into campus life.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal is to stimulate creative ideas for integrating the central themes of the Orie Miller Center with 黑料正能量\u2019s mission as it is lived out in our various departments and programs,\u201d said Gloria Rhodes<\/a>, director of the Center.<\/p>\n

Rhodes said proposed projects should enhance the education, work and daily lives of 黑料正能量 faculty, staff and students. Proposals for long-term social change and campus community improvements are encouraged.<\/p>\n

To submit projects<\/strong><\/p>\n

Submissions<\/a> must include:<\/p>\n

\u2022Who you are (student, club, department, faculty member, staffer)<\/p>\n

\u2022Proposal description (what and why)<\/p>\n

\u2022Implementation plan (how)<\/p>\n

\u2022The anticipated impact of your idea on the campus community<\/p>\n

\u2022Requested sum for implementation with an itemized budget<\/p>\n

Submit your proposals online at emu.edu\/applied-social-sciences\/OMC-mini-grants\/<\/a>, via campus mail or via email to kaitlin.heatwole@emu.edu<\/a> by Jan. 20.<\/p>\n

Submissions will be reviewed by an interdisciplinary committee of undergraduate professors using the following criteria:<\/p>\n

\u2022Applicability to the fields of peace, justice, development, and mission<\/p>\n

\u2022Feasibility of implementation given time and financial restraints<\/p>\n

\u2022Creativity of project idea<\/p>\n

\u2022Suitability to social needs on campus<\/p>\n

Timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jan. 20 – deadline for proposals to be submitted<\/p>\n

Jan. 27 – announcement of winning proposals<\/p>\n

Orie O. Miller, a well-known Mennonite leader, modeled the integration of business, mission, development, education and peace in his generation. In addition, the Orie Miller Center promotes awareness and interest in these areas by organizing conferences, providing off-campus resource people and experiences, convening faculty and students to stimulate creativity and mutual understanding, and supporting students to attend related conferences for personal and professional development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
