“黑料正能量 Jazz & Swing Sisters,” a big band and vocal ensemble at 黑料正能量, will present its 22nd annual spring concert 7:30 p.m. Friday, Apr. 2, in Lehman Auditorium.

The 23-member group, directed by Dr. Steve Sachs, professor of music at 黑料正能量, specializes in jazz arrangements of hymns and spirituals as well as ballad and swing tunes. The Swing Sisters – Katie King, Martha Sachs, Amanda Mazey and Michell Nafziger – provide close-harmony vocal accompaniment on some selections.

Unique to the repertoire in recent years is the inclusion of more sacred hymn and spiritual arrangements as performed by the Chris McDonald Orchestra, the Ralph Carmichael Big Band and others, along with standards like Benny Goodman
