The new program will offer eligible students access to an instrument and free instruction in piano or guitar. Berry, past president of the HMTA, worked with a similar program in New Jersey. He has encouraged area music instructors who plan to teach in the program to learn more through trainings and resources "so they understand the kinds of students they鈥檒l be working with.鈥 鈥淪omeone鈥檚 life, confidence and soul can be enhanced by music study and everyone should have the opportunity to study it, whether they want to play professionally or just as a hobby,鈥 he says in the article.
